WEEKEND FEAST

Had another great indulgent weekend of eating. On Saturday night headed up to Nick's seafood at Bondi. Forgot how windy it can get at the beach - dayum. Anyway, what a great place. Service was brilliant, great ambience and setting. Was really hungry so I didn't hold back. The seafood platter had my name all over it. YUMMY! Chips, mussels, oysters , crab, lobster ........... And we finished it all. And I never say no to dessert so I indulged in a sweet pavlova.

Then we trudged our way over to Bondi Icebergs. The main restaurant itself looked very impressive, very hig class. The bar next to it was extremely posh. Too upper class so we went downstairs where it was an RSL like setting. So as I'm walking to the bar, this lady who is a dead ringer for that chick in Total Recall ( the one Arnie dresses in to disguise himself) accosts me and then drags me onto the dancefloor and won't let go. I try nicely to say my leg is injured but to no avail.
A few excuses later I managed to escape from her clutches much to the chagrin and amusement of those around me.

Last nite was Jen's bday and we had it at this quaint place called "Taste of tuscany" at Carlingford. Man, what a feast, I felt so bloated after. Pizza, chicken parmigiana, more pizza , pasta .... And I really loved the crusty italian breads with the flour on them. Could have a stack of them.

I think I've put on weight, unwanted weight though........

VIVA LA RAZZA - Latino Heat 1967-2005

- Eddie Guerrero, WWE star passed away abruptly last week. I'm watching his tribute show and shedding a tear along the way. Rest in peace Latino Heat

- I hurt myself at oztag last week. After visiting physio, prognosis was a grade 2 tear of the Patella muscle. Advised I should rehab and not run for 3 weeks. Initial disappointment but I guess things could have been worse. But I've been icing it like crazy and it's starting to feel much better. I was struggling to walk yesterday but today it feels much better. I'm starting to think that I can make a comeback in 2 weeks. I'll keep icing it. I guess the hard thing for my is getting toey and wanting to play before everything is fully healed.

TIDBITS

- Oztag and Touch footy started last week. Had a great 2 mth layoff but really glad to get back into it. Oztag especially. Our team this season is something special and we will be hard to beat. In touch, we played aainst the team we beat in last season's epic GF. They beat us 3-1. I have no idea how we beat them last time. Glad we did but they were just too fast and speedy. The more I think about the more of a fluke it probably was.

- Finally saw INTO THE BLUE. Man, Jessica Alba has a top notch body - no surprise there. I think the film studio exec said "Lets film a flick showcasing Jessica's body and throw in a script around it" . Damn she's gorgeous.

- Been working hard on my bowling and we had our first game of the cricket season. Just a bat and bowl for some of us but it was good to roll the arm over again.

- Only 6 weeks til Xmas.

- Still looking for my DVD and plasma TV. I decided that I will get one the minute I sign on the dot when I get a new job. Still looking around job wise. None that I have liked thus far.

- Keen on visiting LA for a few weeks sometime next year

- Christian "Captain Charisma" left the WWE abruptly last week. Big blow for a champion performer. Hope he comes back in the future.

- Good luck Socceroos on Wed!!!!!!!!!!!!

DAMN MICROSOFT

- Equilibirum hosted another great get together on Friday nite. 2 late Fridays in a row there. Flavour of the month. Will be back there in a few weeks for another do.

- Spent all freakin Saturday day and night trying to fix a computer issue on a laptop for a friend. The internal modem had gone missing and device manager was coming up empty. Strange. It wasn't until 10pm that I figured what the issue was.
The modem worked fine until around 2 weeks ago when it went missing. Checking device manager, all empty. Tried everything, googled furiously. Changed registry permissions. No go. Then I went through the patches. Googled them one by one. Jackpot. Security patch KB905749 makes the device manager disappear. Removed it, voila, modem came back, device manager came back. But it's supposed to be a crucial patch. Do I reinstall it? Chances are the modem will disappear if I do. Damn Microsoft patch, they outta do more thorough testing.
