BULLDOGS 2004 PREMIERS
I remember the heartache 6 years ago when we lost to Brisbane in the big one. Last nite was sweet and one of the best nites of my life after the Dogs claimed the mantle of the NRL's finest. The feeling in the community leading up to the Final was just fantastic. Everywhere you looked there was a sea of blue and white. You nodded in approval to people wearing Bulldogs jerseys in the street. You all become one because you support a club that you love.
Last nite , was heart attack material and a game that made me run the the gammet of emotions.
But after 80 minutes, relief was overtaken by jubilation. I was so proud of the players.
After the match, I met some friends at Mounties and there were blue and white jerseys all over the place. At 1am, I headed to Canterbury leagues. Driving there, it was an absolute blast. We were waving our dogs flag outside the car and there was honking and beeping all over the place on the way to Belmore. Once we got there, it was chaos!!!!!! It was chocka block. The spiritual home. Half of SouthWest Sydney seemed to have converged there. It was just great talking and cheering with strangers.
It was a night I will remember for the rest of my life. They make everything worthwhile.
