XMAS GOLF!

Well Xmas has come and gone for another year. The boys and I gathered for our yearly Xmas tradition of Golf on Xmas morning. The best part about golf on Xmas is that it's free - mainly because noone mans the clubhouse. And this is something that we cheap ass asians noticed and have taken advantage of for many years. This years course was a new one, Randwick. Very impressive and picturesque course by the sea. Mostly par 3 and par 4 holes but nothing would be easy with the swirling winds that greeted us. The match would be played in a matchplay format , east vs west. After many poorly judged slices, air shots , putting yips and plain hacking, the scores were tied at 7-7 at the end of the 18th hole. A playoff hole was decided, a short 100m par 3. I opted for my beloved 9 iron. The result - I putted in for par and won the hole for the WESTIESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! Freakin Ripper!!!!!!!!!

Just had to bring that up, sorry fellas hahahahah.

HOLIDAY UPDATE

Headed down to Westfields Bondi to check it out and do a bit of shopping with some friends. I was extremely impressed with the complex. Everything is modern to the max and the shopping is sensational. Food courts are high class. Toilets are so modern that it took me a minute to realise that to turn on the taps you had to activate a sensor below the nozzle!

There's a hoyts cinema and fitness first complex on the top floor as well. Heaps of high class boutiques with designer names. Plenty of high class hair salons as well.
Although my quest to find some Hawaiian shirts didn't come to fruition, I settled for a studded belt. I just wanted to scope the place so that I could come back and check it again next time.

Walking down the stairs, I ran across a one Anthony from Aussie Idol with 2 of his mates. He was wearing a hat but recognisable. I read that he was short but I didn't realise how short. I'ld say 5'5 I reckon. So I followed him to 2 shops as I called Nhi as she's a huge Anthony fan but there was no reception. Before I realised it, he was gone.

LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL

I have 3 weeks of R and R lined up and I plan utmost to take advantage of it to the fullest. Hong's wedding on Saturday was sensational. It was held at Le Montage at Lilyfield and the fact that it was NOT held at Crystal Palace or anywhere in the Cabra vicinity was a highlight enough. The day itself was great apart from the scorching stinking hot weather. The groomsmen were in top form and the bridesmaids were all lovely.

The highlight for me was Hong singing a stellar rendition of "hero" by enrique for his emotional wife. It was awesome. Made me think how I could top something like that for my special missus. Maybe some sorta vietnamese rap accompanied by rnb dancing my mates suggested. Maybeeeeee, hahhahaha!

Day 2 of my official break was spent at Cronulla beach with some mates. Boy, was it a good day for the beach as well, it was stinking hot, nudging 40 degrees. But it was a sensational day. Waves were ordinary but it was fun nonetheless.

Bring on Xmas!!!!!!!!!

DODGEBALL or DODGEY BALL

From all parts of Sydney, the cream of Dodgeball talent congregated at Centennial park to compete in a hit or miss game of dodgeball, figuratively speaking. Dressed in designated colour codes, competitive juices flowed as the battle for dodgeball supremacy began to take hold. Our team attired in colourful orange outfits had the distinction of being the only ALL male team in the league and were suitably handicapped as such. In between impromptu games of cricket, we discussed our gameplans to ward off challenges from the opposition and designed such plays such as "skywalker" which more or less resembled a volleyball layup and spike. Needless to say, it would be dreadfully executed throughout the course of the tournament.

As the prelim round robin rounds progressed, our combinations grew. Handicaps such as using less balls and less numbers were applied as "The oranges" marched valiantly into the decider with a display of flair and perceived cockiness that took the tournament by storm.

Our opponents in the final were the purple team, a hybrid team of guys and girls who had taken us apart in one of the round games. We were intent on not letting this be repeated. In an epic battle which saw the crowd pitted against us, we played the game of our lives handicaps and all to snatch victory only for rules to be made up against us on the fly. A one-off match turned out to be a best of 3 but it simply prolonged the agony for the opposition as "The oranges" raised the roof to win the coveted Dodgeball tournament.

Kris Kringle party at nite was a lot of fun. Played singstar on Ps2 for the first time. I was a shocker and was getting my a$$ handed to me on a platter especially since I decided to challenge the girls. By the time I looked at my clock, it was 2:30am and I had a GF to play at 9 am!

To make a sad story short. We lost the big one after leading 4-2 at half time. It was hot as, we had limited players and I playing on a few hrs sleep played the worst game of touch I've ever played! Somebody shoot me, thats 4 grand finals I've lost over the last yr!

Stuck at work on a Fri and I'm bored so let's just blog a bit shall we.

One of my fave past times of late has been DVD bargain hunting. I just love going around to the bargain bins of various stores and looking for great deals on movies. I've found JB HI FI at Bankstown to be the best place to get DVD bargains. Many a great deal can be picked up here.

Was walking around the city looking for Ninja scroll 10th anniversary edition. The only place I could find selling it was HMV for 39 bux. I reckon HMV is a ripoff. I wouldn't buy any DVD's from there.

Can't wait til the weekend. Having a dodgeball tournament and bbq tomorrow. Should be ALL KINDS OF FUN! Kris Kringle and party at nite and then have my work touch final comp at Sunday at freakin 9:20am at Artarmon! BLARDY!!!!!!!!!! So freakin early!

Ah well, more news on Monday.......

VAN VAN EVERYWHERE

I read an interesting article before that theorises that everyone has a doppelganger - an exact double.

I never realised how many people look like my friend Van.
I was playing footy on Sunday and one of the guys was a dead ringer for him.
I mentioned to him once that there is a janitor at work who looks like him.
Also, on the the early train to work, there's a guy who reminds me of him everytime I see him. It's uncanny.

I'm yet to meet my doppelganger.......

BABY BOY MAKE ME LOSE MY BREATH

Went to R n B dance class for the first time with some friends. What an experience!
I have a new found respect for dancers. It certainly is not easy!

The dude teaching was a hip jive talkin jamaican dude who seemed to have an affection for the word COOL. "Cool maaan!" . "You gotta have attitude!" . There's no doubt that these carribeanites have rhythm and are born to groove. Caribbean cool!

I didn't have high expectations coming in. Just wanted to have some fun and to pick up as much as I could. The routine we learnt was pretty funky but I had a hell of a time mastering the pirouette. But I picked up pieces of the routine that I really liked and added some improvisation into it. It's funky hahahah.

But geez, it does make one hungry. Felt like I could eat a cow after! But I settled for fish and chips, nachos and some sweet sweet chocolate covered pancakes. BURP!

Will I be back? You better believe it.............

#############

Watched TEAM AMERICA - absolutely f*()en hilarious!!!! Bum, dick , vomit , racial jokes aplenty. Absolute must see if you want a good laugh and are not easily offended.
