IN THE MONEY
My finances are in the best shape they have ever been. I've always been a pretty good saver. I don't earn a big salary, only average but I've always invested wisely and spent wisely with the occasional splurge. I've got my Telstra shares and money in the bank that I was looking to put down a deposit for an investment unit. But thats' on hold until prices go down a bit further.
I've given up on trying to build an immunity to alcohol. This is a blessing financially because I realise how much money I save by not drinking.
My weakness is shopping. But I never buy DVD's because I get my brother to buy them. He thinks I'm a cheapa$$ cause the ratio of DVD's he buys compared to me is like 10:1.
I'm thinking of splurging on a plasma TV screen. I've always wanted one.

CLASSIC MOVIES
My brother buys EMPIRE magazine religiously and I always grab it to read. The last issue had a great piece on Marlon Brando and with his recent death I've all of a sudden become interested in his movies. Apart from Superman and The Godfather, I am not too familiar with some of his older classics and have made it a mission to check them out. Many have labelled him "the greatest actor of all time". I've caught snippets of him in some of his movies of the past 10 years but by this time he was largely an obese old man. But in his prime, he was a pretty good looking guy.
Ok, let's see "On the waterfront" - CHECK , "Apocalypse now" - CHECK , "Last Tango in Paris" - CHECK and "A Streetcar named desire" - CHECK.
So if anyone has these on DVD's, kindly lend me :p

It was an extremely cold and windy Sat night. I couldn't talk anyone into checking the retro show at Darling Harbour so decided to head down to Harry's cafe de Wheels for dinner. Seriously, 30 dollar fine dining dinners may make some people happy but a chilli dog followed by a chicken tiger washed down with an orange/mango soft drink is my idea of heaven. It's sublime albeit messy. Luckily at 8pm, the line was short which is a nice change cause it's usually packed late at night.
As we ate, we were having a chuckle over whether we would take a girl to Harry's on a date. Waterfront views, alfresco dining, fresh air, nice ambience and quality food. (p.s ladies, gimme your thoughts on whether this would impress you?)
My mates tease me that I drive like a granny and that doesn't bother me, I've always been extremely safe and meticulous on the roads. But leaving Harry's I turned into the side street and cut in front of all things a Police car. The car turned into the street and as we drove towards it my heart was in my mouth, I thought I would be pulled over for sure. Thank my lucky stars, it just passed us and drove on. I think I'll drive even slower from now on.
To add to that craziness, Hung starts trash talking so we decided to go to the basketball courts on Cleveland St and have a 3 point shootout and to shut him up. A lot of air balls and much much trash talking later, the smarta$$ ended up winning round the world 3 pointers even though the finale was played in the dark when the lights went out at 10:30.
Looks like I'm gonna need a bit more practise.

The best lunches I've had in my life were during the times I was at Condell Park High which was yrs 7-9. I had a potato pie today for the first time in yonks and I forgot how much I loved it. Back at Condell, I remember looking forward to the lunches so much. Chicken pies , Potato pies , sausage roll on a roll with sauce, chicken and corn on a roll with sauce, vanilla slices and they use to make the best salad rolls ever. Salad rolls were a staple of mine, probably explained why I was such a skinny runt during that period. But they were the best ones I've ever had. Use to fill the roll to the brim, and add my fave part, a pickle on top of all the salad. My lunches now are boring compared to back then.

Blasted Rain!
Was looking forward to catching up having a run against the girls in the big soccer match. Hasn't rained for yonks and of all days, it had to be today. Blasted. Oh well, Sydney could use the rain.

DO YOU BELIEVE IN FATE?
I do.
Babe, come in from the cold
and put that coat to rest.
Step inside, take a deep breath
and do what you do best.
Yeah, kick off them shoes
and leave those city streets.
I do believe, love came our way,
and fate did arrange for us to meet

CROSSROADS or MENTAL
We lost in Oztag tonite and I was really disappointed with my effort tonite. I just felt flat out in the middle tonite and wasn't bursting with any hint of enthusiasm. For the last week and a bit I just haven't felt fit. For a long time I haven't felt this way because I do so much to maintain a hig level of fitness that I'm starting to question whats wrong with me. Could it be the wear and tear on my body? I still think my body has plenty of mileage left in it and I don't consider myself old by a long shot. Lack of confidence, mental? I've had a lot on my mind but I've always been able to block things out. I'm just at a lost how to overcome this. Am I plateauing? Do I need to keep doing what I've been doing and ride it out?
I started taking multivitamins last week and I swear, I've never felt so good. I am a convert and will continue to take them from this point on. Thats why I guess its hard to work out why I don't feel so good out on the paddock. But then again, our team has gone from the top of the ladder to the bottom in just one season. So confidence is as low as it's been for a while. Sometimes I guess it shows how much character you have if you fight back stronger than ever......

I'm obsessed with bargain saver coupons at the moment. I've got a stack of them. Burger King, KFC , Video coupons , Habibs, Red Roosters, Massages ..... it goes on and on. Love my Entertainment book as well. Used my Gold Card for the first time tonight at Kingsley's Steakhouse. I'll be trying as many restaurants as I can.
Is PREDATOR like the greatest action movie ever made. Well, it's close in my view. Even seeing it listed on the ENCORE channel tonight, I can't help but watch it only for what seems like the umpteenth time.
"I see it, up there, in those trees.............."
ok, back to the movie.
