I seem to have an affinity for B grade martial arts type movies. Probably cause I grew up watching them by the dozen. There was a movie last night on cable that I had been trying to find called "Revenge of the Ninja" - starring Sho Kosugi, the dude who popularised ninja movies in the 80's along with Michael Dudikoff (American Ninja). I remember watching this movie heaps as a young un and had been trying to find it unsuccessfully at the video stores for the last few years. I ended up watching all of it instead of getting an early night as I had planned.
Another fond childhood cartoon made it's new series debut last night - Astroboy. A lot of people my age grew up with Astro and it was great seeing his adventures remade for a new generation. The 80's series is the series that it tries to replicate, not the 60's black and white series. Both series are classics and it would be hard living up to such expectations. But in lieu of this, I thought the first ep was ok. Characters look the same, although the voices are different. Intro sequence is really hi - tech but the philiosiphy of all creatures humans and robots being equal remains. That's the underlying message of Astroboy and always has been. I'll watch the whole series and deduce the outcome right at the end.
Had a huge touch footy sports day on Sunday and it was great fun. Got around 30 people there and everyone participated. Heaps of girls came and played and it was also great to catch up with old friends. I'll have to organise another one soon.
Can't get Nick Lachey's "This I swear" song out of my head. It's awesome.
"I may not say it quite as much as I should
When I say I love you darling that means for good
So open up your heart and let me in
And I will love you 'til forever
Until death do us part we'll be together
So take my hand and hold on tight
And we'll get there
This I swear...."

Email - one of the greatest things ever invented. I love email. I'ld go crazy if I was denied access to email for more than 1 week. Heck, I'ld be itching to check my inbox after 1 day.
Email at work is especially a great life saver. The 4 emailing lists I am on prevent boredom and make my work day more tolerable. I've become a dab hand at multi tasking. It's not uncommon for me to reply to 3 email threads simultaneously.
I can't imagine how dreary office life would have been 15 yrs ago with no email or net access. Man can not live off solitaire alone. These days, you can have fruitful discussions at work, plan your weekend and other social outings at the click of a mouse. It's great.
Email - I salute you!

I really like Shannon Noll's video clip for "What about me". Very poignant, very moving.

I can't wait til Easter. I'm in dire need of a break. Work has been really really challenging over the past few weeks and I need a recharge. I had my performance review recently and it was all fantastic. My boss asks me what would be my ideal job if I could do anything. I replied "action movie star". I reckon that would be the absolutely coolest job in the world.
