My bloody Nike watch band broke. Gotta send it away to Nike to get it fixed. Can't even get it changed at any old watch repair place. Freakin piss me off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, saw a swag of movies this weekend, new and old.

School of Rock : Quite enjoyed this. Predictable but Jack Black is a comic genius whose antics and talent shines through in this movie. No Kindegarten Cop but very enjoyable nonetheless. 8/10

SWAT : I heard this being compared to "Training Day" which I thought was excellent. Lots of violence, gun play and Michelle Rodriguez in tight white singlet, plain yummy! Pretty boy Farrell goes alright and Samuel L Jackson doesn't swear much in this movie, whats' up with that? But yeh, not as good as "Training Day"
but very watchable. 7/10.

Ali G in DaHouse : Pretty Lame actually. Plenty of pubic hair jokes , RESPECT and sexual innuendo. 4/10.

Shallow Hal : I've been wanting to watch this for a while now. Finally caught it on cable. Really enjoyed it. The only Gwyneth movie I've ever liked is Sliding doors but she looks pretty nice in this flick. Makes you think quite a bit actually. Some stereotypes thrown in and Jack Black is the man once again. Superb! 9/10

The GOONIES : My bro bought this on DVD. Brought back a few memories. Great action adventure all round. Plenty of booby traps in this flick. The fat kid is a cack and that "You call him Dr Jones" asian kid is hilarious, especially his gadgets. Great entertainment. 8/10

My must see movies for December are Elf , Scary Movie 3 and Return of the King and I gotta Bruce Almighty on DVD.

So I head off to sleep at 2am on Sunday morning. Bunkering down after the previous nights' World Cup festivities. Then I hear 4 bangs. I quickly dismiss them as fireworks cause the kids often let them out and so I doze off dreaming that I scored the winning try in the world cup.

Awoken next morning by a kerfuffle in the street. Cops , Armed protection officers roaming the streets. It seemed that the bangs I heard had been gun shots. I walked up to the house at the end of the street to see around 15 spent bullet shell casings being marked out. And the van next to the house had bullet holes coming in one end and out the other. Crazy stuff.

Talking to my neighbour, he said he had been at the pub down near the airport with the guy whose house had been shot. Apparently there was an argument between 2 groups near the pokies and some guys had come in threatening to get some guys.

I don't think anyone was hurt but it was still a sad reminder of the degeneration of society. My street has always been quiet and peaceful. We certainly could do without that sh_t around here.
I hope they catch the pricks!

It was Joey's bday on Sat so we headed up to the Belgian beer cafe to celebrate her 23rd and also catch the Rugby final. The atmosphere around The Rocks was awesome. Real carnival atmosphere and the slight drizzle didn't hamper the celebrations.

Right in extra time, Wilikinson lines up for the kick that would put England ahead 17-14 and all the Screens in the cafe go dead. Pandemonium erupts as people race to turn on the radios. It remains like this for at least the next five minutes. After the game comes back on, Wilkinson slots over the drop goal that would win England the world cup.

Hmmm, England World Champions. Crikey they're gonna be unbearable for the next 4 yrs. Ah well, it's not as if they win a lot of things, let them have their time in the sun.

Now, bring on World Series Cricket!

My relos are going on holidays from December 13th and they've given my brother and I permission to house sit for them for a couple of weeks. Woot! My brother is gonna stay there for the duration but I'll pop up in intervals. But that means my 2 1/2 year old cousin Nicole is going with em. She is gorgeous and I adore her.

But the pad is a spanking new million dollar home in Gladesville. It's part of a new small community and the tenants have access to the pool and tennis courts. There's also a gym setup but it's pretty crap.

I'm so gonna enjoy their rumpus room with Home Theatre Setup. 60k worth of digital goodness. I plan to have my first viewing of Two Towers there. No that's not a typo, it's true, I am yet to see the Two Towers.

What else, oh yeah, Corrs Unplugged and the Crane chase from T3 on the big screen.

Let the good times roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This one time Drew Carey theme song sums up my current week!

Five O’Clock World

Up every mornin’ just to keep a job
I gotta fight my way through the hustling mob
Sounds of the city poundin’ in my brain
While another day goes down the drain (yeah, yeah)

But it’s a five o’clock world when the whistle blows
No one owns a piece of my time
And there’s a five o’clock me inside my clothes
Thinkin’ that the world looks fine, yeah

Tradin’ my time for the pay I get
Livin’ on money that I ain’t made yet
I’ve been goin’ tryin’ to make my way
While I live for the end of the day (yeah, yeah)

Cuz it’s a five o’clock world when the whistle blows
No one owns a piece of my time
There’s a long-haired girl who waits, I know
To ease my troubled mind, yeah

In the shelter of her arms everything’s OK
When she talks then the world goes slippin’ away
And I know the reason I can still go on
When every other reason is gone, (yeah, yeah)

In my five o’clock world she waits for me
Nothing else matters at all
Cuz every time my baby smiles at me
I know that’s it’s all worthwhile, yeah

All the girls are goin ga ga over Queer eye. I slowly got into this and I must now admit, it rocks. Last night's ep was awesome.

George, the somewhat vain mama's boy with the unsightly lion mane of hair got the works and he was really moved. Great show!

Great to see a guy who appreciates his mama so much.
