Australian Idol has really heated up. Last nite , Dicko told Paulini the now infamous "choose the appropriate dress or lose a few pounds." A bit harsh in my view, no women wants to be told her figure is not the ideal. Yeh, what he said is probably true but there is a time and a place. Unfortunately it is the nature of the beast. Look at the superstar female singers today - Britney, Beyonce, Kylie , Delta , Christina , Jewel to name a few. They are all drop dead gorgeous. It's as much as sex appeal as it is the voice, there's no two ways about this. The male singers are the same, they look like they've just come through an episode of queer eye. Pretty boys with killer cheek bones.

I now look at singers like Jewel and Leann Rimes. Boy, have they transformed. They look vivacious after starting out as singers who lacked the va voom factor. Jewel in particular . She is undoubtedly talented and can probably continue to sell millions of more albums if she stuck to her folk roots. But never underestimate the allure of horny teenage boys who dig the sex goddess rather than the shy country girl.
A new fan base.

In other news, I've secured an interview with Macq bank this Friday for the Ecommerce Operations Analyst role. It's a tough ask but hey, it's definitely worth a shot. This job would be close to my dream job at this stage in my life. Best of all, it's in the city. That means no more travelling to friggin St Leonards! Please God, Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Inspiration can come from many places. I need to be inspired.

As another season of oztag approaches, the need to be fitter, faster and stronger envelopes me. It is about this time each year that I reach for my video cabinet and pull out my collection of inspirational movies. B grade movies about the underdog who comes out on top against all odds. They inspire me.
After watching them, you are inspired to go out and train like a maniac.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No Retreat No Surrender: Appalling plot. Embarrassing dialogue. Grainy dark scenes. But sensational training and without doubt some of the best fighting sequences put to film. And heck, it contains a pretty good Bruce Lee imitator. The scene stealing shot of a granite like built Van Damme doing splits on the corner ring ropes is great stuff. The last 30 minutes is sensational. Always gets me up!

Bloodsport and Kickboxer: Van Damme's trademark flicks. The movies that made him in my opinion. I never get tired of watching them. They are superb flicks. Van Damme kicking down palm trees until his legs break and bleed. If they don't inspire you, nothing will.

Way of the Dragon and Fist of Fury : My fave Bruce Lee movies. Long before all this wire fighting crap, Fist of Fury set the benchmark containing some of the most realistic fights ever! Seeing the great man fight Chuck Norris in the colisseum in Way of the Dragon as a little kid was life changing for me. And his lats, phwoar. Not since Minh has anyone impressed me that much. Sensational.

Rocky IV - My fave of the Rocky series: The soundtrack itself is the greatest soundtrack ever to train against. And Stallone standing toe to toe against the machine like Ivan Drago, a man nearly twice his size is awe inspiring. It really is "the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight"!

Rudy : Heart of a hero : My fave Sean Astin movie. Yes, better than Lord of the Rings. Probably on par with another Astin fave Toy Soldiers. But this true story about a little guy who never gives up in the world of 300lb monsters which is the NFL is brilliant. Never never give up. You shouldn't judge a man by his size, but by the size of his heart.

It's time to be inspired!

It's been a while since I've blogged. But here I am, sitting at home bored out of my mind on a Saturday night suffering from the flu. 2nd time in 3 weeks. It's a pain. Watching the clock tick over before I take my next hit of Nurofen whilst everyone is out partying. I must have used a whole box of tissues today. I was so looking forward to Helen's party.

Ghost is about to start. One of my fave movies of all time. But I think I'll watch the Rugby tonite. I'm not a huge Union fan but the Springboks are about to play England. That should at least be a competitive match unlike the majority of the tournament thus far. It'll be half watchable if they keep the kicking to a minimum. Highly unlikely though.

Watched a bit of Dragnet. Ed O Neil aka Al Bundy playing a cop, and he's pretty good. Every time I see him though I'm expecting him to put his hands down his pants. Seeing him in such a serious role is something very different.

Let's see, since my last blog, what has happened?????

Oh yeah, Panthers won the grand final. It was one of the best finals matches I have ever seen. Absolutely brutal. A big wrap to the Panthers who have gone from the basement to the penthouse. A real rags to riches story. I think they'll be a force for a few years with the crux of their team being pretty young.

Went to City Hotel for some clubbing last Sat. Man, that went off. Absolutely great evening. My ears took 2 days to recover cause we were sitting right beneath the speakers. Boy, was it loud. Saw a lot of familiar faces and met up with some people I hadn't seen for 4-5 years. Minh came up with a classic line for the night - had me in stitches. The dude comes up with the best quotes ever!

Well, signing out for the time being. Chill@!
